History
In 1996, the Board of Directors of the former, Distillers
Feed Research Council (DFRC), made the decision to modify the by-laws of
the organization and change its name to more closely fit a new mission
statement. Thus was born the Distillers Grains Technology Council (DGTC).
Mission
The mission statement and goals of this new organization
exemplify a broadening interest in current issues affecting the distilling industry.
- The DGTC, a non-profit organization, stresses the importance of utilization
of distillers co-products in animal feeds.
- We address the production and product quality issues that are known to impact the market
acceptability and production costs of these products.
Location
The organization's office is located in the Engineering School at the
University of Louisville, which provides an excellent combination of technical support
opportunities and reduced administrative costs.
Administration
Mr. Charles Staff is Executive Director and CEO of the DGTC.
Mr. Staff has over 35 years in the food processing industry and over 14 years with
Brown-Forman Company, from which he recently retired. Mr. Staff was senior Vice President in charge
of research and development while at Brown-Forman. As part of his responsibilities, he was actively
involved in addressing the issues related to utilization and processing of distillers co-products.
